For hypermobile kids with a plantarflexed calcaneus.

Use a rigid material (polypropylene) rather than a tri-planar wedge.
Prevent plantarflexion of the calcaneus with a plantar skive. No inversion or eversion control. This then allows the foot to develop with the calcaneus in this position rather than collapsing together with the plantar flexed calc and the navicular ending up on the ground. The foot will still be able to pronate, and will likely still be a pronated foot type, but it should reduce the morphology of the hypermobile flat foot over time.
This design does not effect TNJ or MLA.
Do this together with neuromuscular exercises to hardwire the neurodynamic function around a better foot position with the hope of being able to take them out of orthoses around age 8-9.
